A man is dying in hospital. He is just a body working its way towards death, and no own knows what kind of life is lies behind it. Augustinas Baltrušaitis was a prominent figure in Lithuanian theatre and film who worked on five feature films and worked with the Russian film director Grigory Kozincev in the St.Petersburg studios.Audrius Stonys meets Baltrusaitis at the end of his life, when he is a recluse, no longer communicating with anyone, and in his documentary he slowly counts down the events that lead to sink into a state of forgetting. The individual chapters in the film – the port, home, memories – are shaped by their mood, and, often unaccompanied by words, are comprised of events from life arranged in a contemplative mosaic. —Doc Alliance
